Passionate about history and archives, graduate of Public Administration and Chief Archives Officer and Applications Manager of the Department of Records and Information Management (DIV) of the state of St Maartin, Alfonso Blijden occupied the past May 27, he was part of the Memory of the World Committee for Latin America and the Caribbean of UNESCO from 2015-2019, being 2nd vice president in the first period.We will remember him as an excellent professional who provided this Committee with a unique perspective on information management processes in the context of climate disasters, as well as a scholar of Caribbean history.Added to his outstanding professional qualities is that of having been an extraordinary colleague, which is why those of us who knew him feel the privilege of having shared with him, even a short stretch of the road, leaving such a significant mark.From MoWLAC we accompany his loving family and his friends in this moment of pain.Alfonso Blijden will always be present in the history of the MoWLAC-UNESCO Committee.
